Mt. Shasta, CA – (August 15, 2012) – The independently produced, award-winning film “Dreams Awake” will be screening at two different film festivals this coming weekend. The film, a mystical family drama starring Erin Gray, will play at the Columbia Gorge International Film Festival in Vancouver, Washington, and at The Indie Gathering International Film Festival in Hudson, Ohio, both on Saturday, August 18.
The film will also pick up an award for the Best Family Feature at The Indie Gathering festival. This will be the sixth award from five different film festivals that “Dreams Awake” has thus far received. In addition, the film has been nominated for five more awards at this festival; Best Actress: Erin Gray, Best Actor: Gary Graham, Best Supporting Actor: Tim O’Connor, Best Director, and Best Cinematography.
Excited that his directorial debut film continues to garner awards, Writer/Director Jerry Alden Deal states, “I am very honored and humbled by the ongoing recognition our film is receiving.” He will also be conducting a ‘Questions & Answer’ session after the Vancouver screening. His wife, Berry Deal, the Executive Producer, will be conducting a ‘Questions & Answer’ session after the Hudson screening.

The film stars Erin Gray, Gary Graham and Tim O’Connor. Gray is known primarily for her lead roles in the TV series “Silver Spoons” and “Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,” but has also appeared in several other TV series’ and indie films. Graham starred in the TV series “Alien Nation” and “Star Trek Enterprise,” along with roles in a number of indie films. O’Connor came out of retirement to cap off his long career, which included starring opposite Erin Gray in “Buck Rogers,” as well as numerous roles dating back to the 1950s. He is primarily known for his role in the 1960’s TV series “Peyton Place.”
Billed as a mystical family drama, the story’s logline reads, “While on vacation a disconnected family gets stranded near mystical Mt. Shasta and amazing possibilities open up. A glimpse into the subtle but intense possibilities of the human spirit, this spiritual drama delves into that magical lore between reality and illusions, dreams and awake, and life and immortality.”
